Review
No Action, but Lesbi?!
Well, I'm not joking. I was wondering about Kassa's deceit that led to a fight with her sinister appearance, then one of them being killed—but sadly, there's only chatter and story-sharing by the hearth during autumn. Every nonchalant act by Rosa that betrays herself and her deceased mother is the way she finally realizes she can fill the emptiness of loneliness with Kassa's presence, little by little. This is also implicitly shown through the brilliant symbolism of the sliced apple or its seeds.
Such a lovely story—and fortunately, Thea Hawthorne didn't show any deeper intimacy that would lead to a lesbian spectacle between the two.
As always, I Love Nature
Maybe due to the story’s brevity, I really loved the depiction of the forest and the autumn atmosphere. Living alone, isolated from the crowds, and becoming one with nature—second to none indeed.
Disappointing One ...
I was only disappointed by the author's acquaintance, who identified as queer. Hopefully, I never read this. As for the story itself, it might be one of my favorites.
Conclusion
In the end, I’d recommend it to anyone, especially if you're into drama and slice-of-life stories.
